New viewer? Well hello! Visit this start here page first to understand what this show is all about!
John Cleese from Monty Python was the star of a much loved British sitcom from the 70’s called Fawlty Towers. Have you seen it? Over the years Cleese has been asked to reprise his role as Basily Fawlty, but he’s always refused…until now! Cleese was pitched an idea for a new TV commercial that he really resonated with, and it’s become a great success. The key lesson here is to consider leveraging nostalgia in your advertising and marketing.
This episode also features a nifty resource to help you manage your email inbox, and there’s a big marketing lesson from Air Canada, too.

Have you seen these Snickers bars with different words on them? It’s a great example of personalized packaging. Initially I thought they were named after the 7 dwarves, but then I realized that there’s no dwarf named Goof Ball! It’s an interesting marketing lesson for your small business, in product personalization. Coca cola have done something by giving bottles of Coke people’s first names.
This episode also features part 2 of an interview with master business coach, Rob Berkley, who’s Vision Day concept has become one of the most helpful ways for entrepreneurs to evaluate and take their business to the next level. We discuss questions 7 to 12, to help you lead a happier, more successful life. Enjoy.

Peter Hollens is an astounding YouTube success story. In fact he and his wife inspired the movie Pitch Perfect!
In this interview, we delve into how Peter has achieved phenomenal success on YouTube in the niche of acapella music. Interestingly, he reveals that he spends the vast majority of his time on marketing. Makes sense, right?
I hope you’ll take the time to also check out Peter Hollens on YouTube and support his magnificent work. As this episode was released, Peter experienced a massive viral hit with his version of the song Mary did you know?

New viewer? Good day to you! Visit this start here page first to understand what this show is all about!
I was in Maui recently, and I picked up some of their tourist brochures. Interestingly, in a sea of brochures only one stood out from the crowd, for 3 reasons. Discover why it was the best as I share the secrets.
A lot of questions relate to pricing, because most business owners struggle with what to charge. The first rule is not to copy your competitors. Don’t make it easy for customers to compare your price with others, so avoid putting your prices on your website.
This week’s nifty click is a resource to help you improve the conversion on your website. It’s called Visual Website Optimizer, and it’s a great, trusted service that’s highly recommended.
Apple are masters at marketing! Just look at the ad for the latest iPhone 6S, compared with the Motorola ad for the DroidX.

Whole Foods found themselves in hot water recently when they offered water infused with asparagus, for $6.00! It’s water wit a stick of asparagus in it. Needless to say, the late night talk shows pounced on this and mocked Whole Foods for their rather bold (and some might say outrageous) product. What do YOU think? Was Whole Foods right to be mocked, or if people buy it, are they the fools here?
My guest in this episode is Shari Alexander, who specializes in the art of communication and influence, based on her research with CIA field agents, hostage negotiators, con artists, undercover operatives and even pick-up artists. She’s a regular contributor to Entrepreneur magazine, and we discuss a range of topics that are helpful to entrepreneurs, including how to influence and communicate prospects legitimately.

I’m THRILLED to tell you that this week, the video podcast reached #1 on iTunes, above TED Talks, Harvard Business Review, Seth Godin, Clark Howard, Jim Cramer and Pat Flynn. Now onto this week’s episode…
I went to a New York pizza restaurant recently and since I’m gluten and dairy free, that can be limiting for me. I was frustrated that the chef wouldn’t let me add an ingredient, but he would let me take something away! I’d love to know your thoughts on what went down – do you agree with me or with the chef? Let me know in the comments below!
Sex education in schools is apparently a very sensitive subject in the U.S. This week’s viewer question is from someone who wants to get her curriculum into more schools in Canada. I called up a friend of mine to help answer the question, and he gave some great advice.
If you like Animoto for creating online animated videos then I think you’ll love StupeFlix. It’s a nifty web resource and the videos it creates from your photos or videos look GREAT!
Finally, there’s a BIG marketing lesson for your small business, from Roberts Radio whose British made product is absolutely first-class quality. The way they tell their story in their ads is top-notch and there’s an important lesson for all entrepreneurs here.
As usual, let me know your thoughts about the small business resources I shared with you this week – leave your comment below, it’s really easy to do, and I’d LOVE to hear whatever is on your mind!
